The partnership between Yuantian Biotechnology and Huahao Chemical has inaugurated a new industrial model for enzymatically recycled high-end polyester. Both parties will leverage their respective core strengths to collaborate closely. As a company specializing in the R&D and commercial application of enzymatic recycling for waste PET plastics, Yuantian Biotechnology will contribute its notable achievements in the enzymatic recycling of discarded textiles. Huahao Chemical, in turn, will utilize Yuantian’s enzymatically recycled rPTA as a monomer to develop and produce high-molecular-weight materials such as rb PTT, while also engaging in market promotion and sales at a certain scale. Joining Forces to Unlock New Potential in the High-End Polyester Market

PTT, or polytrimethylene terephthalate, was initially developed by Shell Chemical Company and DuPont using petroleum-based and bio-based (corn-derived) processes, respectively, through the polymerization of PTA and PDO (1,3-propanediol) followed by spinning into a novel polyester fiber. Due to its advantages in dimensional stability, stain and wrinkle resistance, and high elasticity, PTT fiber has seen expanding applications, earning favor among many major domestic and international brands.
